SIA frequent flyers can use their miles to redeem flights on Scoot and Tigerair

SINGAPORE - Singapore Airlines (SIA) frequent flyers can now use their miles to redeem flights on Scoot and Tigerair.

They can purchase electronic vouchers to offset payment for travel on the two budget carrriers or to pay for selected products offered by the airlines, SIA said on Wednesday.

KrisFlyer members will also have the option to earn miles on Scoot and Tigerair flights later this year.

"We are constantly working to enhance the benefits of the KrisFlyer programme. These new partnerships will provide our members with even more ways to use their miles across the SIA Group's portfolio of airlines," said SIA's senior vice-president for marketing planning, Lee Wen Fen.

The tie-up is the latest initiative by airlines within the group to work more closely amid tough competition from other carriers.

Scoot is SIA's long-haul budget arm while Tigerair, which operates regional flights, is about 56 per cent owned by SIA.
