SINGAPORE - Several roads along the Central Business District (CBD) will be closed this Saturday due to National Day Parade (NDP) rehearsals.

They are: Republic Boulevard (towards Raffles Avenue), Raffles Avenue (towards Esplanade Drive and between Republic Boulevard and Temasek Avenue), and the two extreme left lanes of Raffles Avenue between Temasek Avenue and Esplanade Mall.

These roads will be closed from 10 am to 11.30pm and only authorised vehicles will be granted access, said the police in a statement on Thursday.

From 7 pm to 10.30 pm, an extreme left lane of Raffles Avenue between Esplanade Mall and Esplanade Drive will also be shut down.

During these periods, public bus traversing these routes will be diverted, and traffic marshals will be stationed at the affected junctions to redirect motorists.

The police advise motorists to plan alternative routes or take public transport to avoid traffic snarls, which are expected along Raffles Boulevard, Raffles Avenue, Republic Avenue, Bras Basah Road, Nicoll Highway and Bayfront Avenue.

Parking restrictions will be strictly enforced, the police added in the statement, and vehicles causing obstruction will be towed away.

Members of the public can call 1800-6372014 for further clarifications.
