Four-vehicle collision injures eight; motorcyclist dies in separate crash

EIGHT people were injured in an accident on Saturday involving an SMRT bus, a minibus, a car and a van. The collision occurred at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 6 and Street 24.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted at about 9am and sent four ambulances to the scene. It said the eight injured people were sent to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.

The SMRT said in a statement that the van, bus and car collided with its bus service 851, which was stationary at the junction.

Separately, a motorcyclist died in an accident along the Seletar Expressway early Saturday morning. The police were alerted at about 5.10am and said the accident involved a motorcycle and a car. The driver of the car has been arrested and investigations are ongoing.
