Former judge Richard Magnus to succeed Gerard Ee as head of fares watchdog

Former judge Richard Magnus will replace Gerard Ee as chairman of the Public Transport Council from May 1.

Mr Ee has been chairman of the government-appointed fares watchdog since 2005.

Mr Magnus has served on the Council since February 2012. The former senior district judge is currently chairman of the Casino Regulatory Authority.

He recently led the Fare Review Mechanism Committee, which was asked by the Transport Ministry to review the way bus and train fares are adjusted, as well as the concessions granted.
