SINGAPORE - Commuters using the Circle Line to head towards HarbourFront were held up on Friday morning due to a stalled train between Tai Seng and Bartley stations.

SMRT said the incident happened at 8.05am. The stalled train was then driven to Bartley, where passengers alighted.

Mr Patrick Nathan, SMRT's vice president of corporate communications and information said that full services along the Circle Line resumed at around 8.14am, but a knock-on effect led to delays for subsequent trains. Normal headway between trains was restored an hour later.

"Initial findings point to a signal fault aboard the train. Our engineers are attending to the situation," said Mr Nathan in a statement. "We apologise for the inconvenience experienced by our commuters this morning."
