SINGAPORE - Certificate of entitlement (COE) prices ended mixed in the latest tender on Wednesday.

COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp inched up from $61,899 three weeks ago to close at $61,990. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp slipped from $65,700 to end at $64,889.

Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mainly for bigger cars, tumbled from $65,301 to finish at $63,001.

The premium for commercial vehicles rose from $42,001 to close at $43,390. Motorcycle COE revved past the $4,000 level again to end at $4,001 - up from $3,890 previously.

Observers believe the car loan restriction introduced last year is hitting home as it drives buyers to downgrade to cheaper models. This is propping up COE for cars up to 1,600cc.
