SINGAPORE - Certificates of entitlement (COEs) ended higher across the board at the latest tender Wednesday, driven by new model launches in recent weeks.
COE for cars up to 1,600cc and 130bhp finished at $64,600, up from $62,890 two weeks ago. COE for cars above 1,600cc or 130bhp closed at $68,689, up from $65,001.
Open COE, which can be used for any vehicle type but ends up mostly for bigger cars, raced to $69,001, from $65,002. Commercial vehicle COE climbed from $52,010 to finish at $54,009. Motorcycle premium ended at $4,353, up from $4,252.
Motor industry players said the arrival of new cars such as the Porsche Macan and Mercedes-Benz C-class fuelled the premium hikes as did the imminent launch of the new Honda Jazz next week. The two car COEs are valid for six months once they are secured.
