Bus route 11 extended to serve Tanjong Rhu area from June 8

SINGAPORE - Bus service 11 will be extended from Sunday, June 8, to serve residents at Tanjong Rhu.

Currently, the SBS Transit service travels between Lorong 1 Geylang Bus Terminal and the Singapore Indoor Stadium along Stadium Crescent.

The extension means the service will call at seven new bus stops along Tanjong Rhu Road and Rhu Cross.

In a joint news release with SBS Transit on Friday, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said the extension will be the 27th bus service launched under the Bus Service Enhancement Programme.

This is the second route extension under the $1.1 billion programme, after service 119 was extended from Sengkang to serve Punggol estate in October 2012.

In a Facebook post, Mountbatten MP Lim Biow Chuan said the service will make a loop from Stadium MRT to the Tanjong Rhu condo area and then bring residents back to the MRT station.

The extended route will also provide access to amenities such as the Singapore Indoor Stadium, Leisure Park Kallang and the upcoming Sports Hub and Kallang Wave.

With the extension, Service 11 will operate an hour earlier from 6am, with the last bus departing at 11.30pm daily.
