SINGAPORE - Traffic coming in to Singapore at the two land checkpoints are at a standstill, as Singaporeans return from the long Hari Raya weekend.

Long lines of cars can be seen at both Causeway and Tuas for much of Monday.

The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) had advised travellers to expect heavy traffic, and suggested that they car-pool, maintain lane discipline and use the enhanced Immigration Automated Clearance System (eIACS) lanes at the bus halls for immigration clearance.

To cope with the large number of travellers, the ICA has provided more automated facilities for passport clearance by motorcycle and bus travellers, and opened up additional counters for motorcycle and goods vehicles. It said additional car counters would also be opened whenever appropriate.
