SINGAPORE - His name is Ryan Koh, and he is an Assistant Superintendant (ASP) in the Singapore Police Force.

You might know him as the "Yan Dao" (Hokkien for "handsome") policeman cardboard standee gracing store entrances across Singapore since April last year as part of police efforts to tackle shoplifting.

And now, ASP Koh, 32, has his own crime prevention music video. Released on Sunday, it has garnered more than 460,000 views on the police's Facebook page.

The 3min 12 sec clip, which includes a dance number set to lyrics like "you don't want to serve time", has some netizens bemoaning that it is cheesy and "a crime to our eyes".

But it has also been "liked" and shared more than 5,000 times, as of 11am on Monday.

In January, Instagram user tessjwy posted a photo she took with the real ASP Koh at a Criminal Investigation Department appreciation event, and it was widely shared.

But it was not the first time his "Shop theft is a crime" standee - a popular meme - has generated Internet buzz:
