SINGAPORE - Want to see some Christmas lights, but don't want to leave your comfortable chair?
We are taking you to Boon Lay, Toa Payoh, Hougang and of course, Orchard Road for a glimpse of places that got all dressed up for the season.
Merry Christmas, Singapore!
Singapore lights up
In this time-lapse video, Straits Times videographer Basil Edward Teo traverses the island to capture the lights and decor for the festive season.
We start in Orchard Road, sail down the Singapore River, then head to the heartland, dropping by Mr Martin Silva's lit-up patio in Toa Payoh Lorong 7, which got him into trouble with his town council.
Orchard Road
It is a colourful Christmas at Orchard Road this year. The many colours reflect Singapore's diversity as it celebrates 50 years of nationhood next year.
The 2.88km light-up, adorning the road from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura, will be up till Jan 1.
Gardens by the Bay
Garden by the Bay is living up to its theme of Christmas Wonderland with Luminarie light sculptures from Italy, a Christmas market and a 200-year-old Baroque-style Spiegeltent.
