Get a feel of springtime in the Netherlands at the Gardens by the Bay's Tulipmania, a colourful display of  the country's national flower. View 50,000 assorted tulip varieties all specially flown in for the show, with a centrepiece depicting Dutch canal scenes, houses and windmills.

Tulips are delicate plants that usually last for about a week after flowering, but their lifespan can stretch to about 10 to 12 days with the climate-controlled conditions at the Flower Dome.

This is the second  Tulipmania  after last year’s edition which featured 40,000 tulips. Ms Marziah Haji Omar, assistant director of gardens design at Gardens by the Bay, says most of the varieties of tulips on show this year  will be different from those seen at last year’s event.

To see the blooms in all their floral splendour, head down to the Gardens by The Bay's Flower Dome, on till May 4, 9am to 9pm daily. Admission is $8 to $12 from
