A tipper truck tipped onto its side, causing a five-hour jam along Braddell Road yesterday.

Police received a call at around 12.40pm alerting them to the accident which occurred before the underpass at Braddell flyover, in the direction of Bartley Road.

The truck's 60-year-old driver could be seen grimacing in pain as he was treated by paramedics.

He was taken conscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital in an ambulance, having suffered a swollen forehead and abrasions to his right arm.

Traffic remained slow-moving as late as 6pm, after the authorities diverted traffic from the underpass to remove the empty tipper truck.
