One cyclist and two motorcyclists were killed in separate accidents within 24 hours over the weekend.

At about 7am yesterday, the police were alerted to an accident along Woodlands Avenue 10, involving a lorry and a 35-year-old male Indian cyclist.

The latter lay metres from the lorry and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

Chinese paper Shin Min Daily News reported that the deceased was a shipyard worker who had been on his way to work when the accident occurred.

His bag and shoes were found more than 3m away from his body.

The male Chinese driver, who is understood to be in his 30s, was later arrested.

Barely a day earlier, two motorcyclists died in accidents an hour apart.

The first was a 19-year-old youth who was found at about 5.45am along Clementi Road. He was also pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene.

He had reportedly lost control of his vehicle and crashed into three trees before finally coming to a stop.

The other fatality was a man in his 30s found unconscious at about 6.30am along Braddell Road.

He was taken to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Shin Min reported that he leaves behind a six-month-old daughter.

Police investigations into all three incidents are ongoing.
