Temasek CEO Ho Ching to take part-time sabbatical leave for three months

SINGAPORE - Ms Ho Ching, Chief Executive Officer of Temasek Holdings, will be on sabbatical leave for three months, the Singapore state investor said in a statement on Wednesday. No reasons were given for the leave.

Ms Ho, 62, who is also wife of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, will continue with her board duties and specific stewardship duties, the statement added.

Mr Lee Theng Kiat, President of Temasek, will cover Ms Ho on all normal course of business at Temasek as an investor and shareholder, as an institution, and as a steward, the statement said.

According to Reuters, Ms Ho's leave is not linked to any plans to retire from the post that she has held since 2004.

"This is not related to any retirement plans," Reuters quoted a Temasek spokeswoman as saying.
