The Sultan of Brunei visited the Singapore Armed Forces' (SAF) Multi-Mission Range Complex at Pasir Laba on Tuesday and personally tried out some of its hardware.

Besides firing the Singapore Assault Rifle 21, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah also drove the upgraded Light Strike Vehicle Mark II as well as the Terrex Infantry Carrier Vehicle on the second of his three-day state visit to Singapore.

The 67-year-old Sultan viewed live-firing demonstrations at the 50m indoor shooting range and urban operations range, as well as a static display of the SAF's military hardware.

Hosted by Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen, the Sultan and senior Bruneian officials also met Royal Brunei Armed Forces personnel currently attending SAF courses here.

Also present during the visit were Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Army Brigadier-General Perry Lim.

The Army and the Royal Brunei Land Forces will conduct their flagship Exercise Maju Bersama in Singapore next month, and mark 20 years of cooperation next year.
