SINGAPORE - StarHub said that it has rectified issues with its 3G voice network, and affected users are now able to make outgoing calls.

"Our 3G outgoing voice call service, which was temporarily affected in certain western and central areas earlier today, was fully restored at 5pm," said the telco in a statement.

"We are monitoring the situation closely to ensure service stability for our customers," it added.

Customers complained on StarHub's Facebook page on Tuesday that they had been unable to make outgoing calls since about 10am.

Mr Jeffrey Kua, 46, was one of those affected.

"I tried calling my customer at 10.30am this morning, but the call just got disconnected," said the IT manager.

"I had to switch to 2G in order to make an outgoing call."

During the downtime, customers were still able to receive email and WhatsApp messages.

StarHub said that it kept customers informed about the 3G network issue and told them they could switch to 2G to make outgoing calls.

Customers were informed through Facebook, Twitter and its customer hotline service, the telco said.

"We apologise for any inconvenience caused, and thank affected customers for their patience and understanding,"StarHub said.
