SINGAPORE - The Republic of Singapore Air Force's F-15SG warplanes are taking part for the first time in Exercise Red Flag - Nellis, hosted by its American counterpart, in Nevada from July 14 to July 26. It ends on Saturday.
The exercise is an opportunity for participating pilots to simulate what they would do during an air strike, the Ministry of Defence said.
For this exercise, the air force has deployed eight F-15SG and eight F-16C/D fighter jets, three CH-47 helicopters, and about 290 personnel from its Peace Carvin II, Peace Carvin V and Peace Prairie detachments in the United States.
They join 83 other aircrafts, including those from France and US, in this exercise.
Singapore has been participating in the exercise since 1982.
