SAF, RSAF to conduct live firing exercises from June 23 to June 30

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will conduct military and live firing exercises from June 23 to June 30. Blanks, thunderflashes, flares and live ammunition will be used in these exercises and the public is advised not to be alarmed.

SAF's military exercises will begin at 8am in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai.

Its live firing exercises will also start at the same time in Pasir Laba (Safti) Live Firing Area. All sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits are to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the Live Firing Boundary.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force's exercises will be conducted around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from June 23 to June 27 daily from 7am to 11pm. On June 28, it will begin at 8am and end at 1pm. These areas are proclaimed manoeuvring and firing grounds and the public is advised to keep clear of these islands.

Flying activities will also be held in preparation for the National Day Parade - these will occur every Saturday evening between now and August 9, from 5pm to 730pm.
