SINGAPORE - Around 340 personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) took part in a live-fire artillery exercise in the United States on Wednesday.
They joined 120 troops from the Oklahoma Army Reserve National Guard at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, as part of Exercise Daring Warrior.
The exercise, which began on Nov 4 and ends on Sunday, is being held for the fourth time.
Wednesday's live-fire training involved assets such as the Singapore Army's High Mobility Artillery Rocket System (HIMARS) and Apache AH-64D attack helicopters from the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
Permanent Secretary for Defence Chan Yeng Kit and the US Chief of Field Artillery Brigadier-General (BG) William Turner were there to witness the troops training.
BG Turner said: "I can't overemphasise the importance of this kind of training in terms of the long term strategies for our defence."
