Roads will be closed for the opening of the second session of the 12th Parliament sitting, on Friday from 5pm to 11pm at the Parliament House.

The extreme right lane of Parliament Place, between North Bridge Road and St Andrew's Road, will be closed then.

During this period, only authorised vehicles displaying approved labels as well as police and emergency vehicles can access the lane.

The carpark at Parliament House will be closed for vehicles with those labels and police officers will be deployed at affected road junctions to assist and direct motorists.

Traffic delays may be expected along Hill Street, High Street, North Bridge Road and Parliament Place.

Motorists are advised to plan their route early, said the police on Wednesday.

Vehicles found parking indiscriminately or causing obstruction will be towed away.
