Religious and cultural heritage of Geylang Serai commemorated in book and exhibition

SINGAPORE - Home to more than 100 religious organisations and clan associations, Geylang Serai now has its diversity and heritage showcased in a new book and exhibition.
The "Vibrant Geylang Serai: Heritage in Harmony" coffee table book was launched by Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong on Saturday.
Copies of the book will be distributed to schools and religious organisations, and will also be available at the National Library. To find out more about the book, members of the public can contact the Geylang Serai Constituency Office at 6747-2919.
An exhibition of artifacts from the religious organisations was also displayed for one day at the Singapore Post Centre in Eunos Road. A seminar on the topic "The evolving roles and impact of religious organisations" was held concurrently, along with a panel discussion chaired by Adviser for Geylang Serai Inter-Racial and Religious Confidence Circle, Associate Professor Fatimah Lateef.
