SINGAPORE - The Government is looking at making Mandai zoo "bigger and better", said Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Thursday evening.

Speaking at a live television forum, PM Lee mentioned that the attraction could be ready sometime in 2020.

As well as expanding on its wildlife theme, he added that the zoo, which opened in 1973 and currently occupies an area of 28 hectares, could mix educational, recreational and environmental themes.

Mr Lee also said that Jurong Bird Park may be relocated to the Mandai area.
