SINGAPORE - Some 150 seniors were each given a Pioneer Generation card along with a scone at a community event at Tiong Bahru Plaza on Sunday afternoon.

Ms Indranee Rajah, Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC, was on hand to present the cards and the scones, baked that morning by the Henderson Community Club women's executive committee.

At the event called Baking Kindness, organised by Cairnhill Community Club's youth executive committee, the seniors were treated to dance, hip-hop and music performances by youth and children.

Mr William Wang, 29, a member of the organising committee, said: "It's a good opportunity for young people like us to have more time to engage senior citizens, and hear their stories about how they contributed to the building of the nation."
