SINGAPORE - A flash mob wearing panda masks or dressed in panda suits descended on the Westgate shopping mall on Sunday in a panda parade to prod the public to preserve the environment.

The panda performance was organised by Wildlife Reserves Singapore's River Safari ahead of its birthday celebration for pandas Kai Kai and Jia Jia, and to mark their second year in Singapore.

Members of the public could also pledge actions to protect pandas, from conserving fuel by taking public transport, to avoiding products that endanger animals.

Shoppers at the mall were also given a chance to win tickets to the River Safari's Panda Party week from Sept 6 to 14.

A repeat of yesterday's "panda-monium" will take place at ION Orchard this Saturday and Sunday at noon.
