SINGAPORE- The Sir Stamford Raffles statue along the Singapore River will be boarded up on Wednesday and Thursday for its regular cleaning.

During these two days, tourists or locals will not be able to take photographs with the statues, the Singapore Tourism Board said in a statement on Tuesday.

Sculptures from the People of the River series will also be cleaned during this time.

These sculptures, found on the fringe of the Singapore River near The Fullerton Hotel, include The First Generation, which shows five boys jumping into the river for a swim, and The River Merchants, which shows merchants mingling with traders.
