New family service centre officially opens in Woodlands

SINGAPORE - A new family service centre has been set up in Woodlands, to support residents living in rental blocks at Champions Way. The centre run by Fei Yue Community Services was officially opened on Saturday morning. Mr Khaw Boon Wan, MP for Sembawang GRC, was the guest of honour.

Since the centre was set up in March last year, it has served nearly 800 clients in casework and counselling, and reached 3,450 residents through community activities.

The centre is also the first among Fei Yue's four family service centres to start the STAR (Self-study, Tuition and Recreation) programme, an initiative to engage latchkey children in the area and offer them a conducive learning environment.
