SINGAPORE - The restructured Advisory Council on Community Relations in Defence (Accord) with its three new councils will allow it to specialise and focus on the different groups of the public in its effort to raise understanding of national service (NS).

The three councils are: the Employer and Business Council, the Educational Institutions Council, and the Family and Community Council.

On Monday, the new Accord, chaired by Second Minister for Defence Chan Chun Sing, met for the first time today at Safra Toa Payoh.

During the meeting, members discussed extending outreach to raise public awareness on the role of NS and the need for defence.
