New $20m campaign to attract tourists to Singapore as number dipped by 3% last year

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Tourism Board on Tuesday announced a new $20 million campaign to pull visitors into Singapore.

The campaign, which will run from the middle of the year till December, will offer visitors deals in dining, retail, accommodation and travel.

Already, 20 hotels have come on board to offer a free night for every two paid for.

The campaign will be launched in seven countries: Indonesia, China, India, the Philippines, Japan, Korea and Vietnam.

This comes on the back of a challenging backdrop for tourism.

Last year, 15.1 million tourists visited Singapore - a dip of 3 per cent from 2013.
