This year's National Day Parade will celebrate the key ingredient in Singapore's foundation - its people and the theme is 'Our People, Our Home'.

This was unveiled, along with this year's NDP logo, which comprises red speech bubbles, one of which contains the crescent moon and five stars of the flag.

Said parade executive committee chairman Colonel Wong Yu Han: "Our team wants to create a parade that will deeply engage fellow Singaporeans and inspire the next generation through active participation. We want to celebrate the can-do attitude and caring spirit that hold us together and make Singapore our home."

This year's celebration will be held at The Float@Marina Bay, and is made of three segments - the pre-parade, parade and ceremony, and show.

The parade and ceremony segment will comprise the usual 21-fun salute, Feu de Joie and dynamic defence display.

The show segment, directed by this year's creative director Dick Lee, will have four acts.

There will be a series of activities to get Singaporeans to join in the celebrations, including a competition to select 18 primary 4 and 5 students to train with the Singapore Armed Forces Red Lions parachuting team for a day at iFly Singapore.
