SINGAPORE - Mr S Iswaran Minister in the Prime Minister's Office and Second Minister for Home Affairs and Trade and Industry will be making an official visit to Cambodia on 21 July 2014.

In his trip to strengthen bilateral economic ties, Mr Iswaran will meet Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Kheng, Senior Minister of Commerce Sun Chanthol and Minister of Mines and Energy Suy Sem.

Trade between the two Asean partners has gone up by 17 per cent since 2010 to S$1.6 billion last year.

A statement from the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said that Singapore was Cambodia's sixth largest trading partner in 2012. Singapore's investments in Cambodia has also increased 11 per cent year-on-year to reach a cumulative value of S$240 million in 2012.

It said Singapore companies have invested in a range of sectors in Cambodia including property development, hospitality, energy, lifestyle business, garment,agriculture and logistics.

While there, Minister Iswaran will take part in a business networking session. This is jointly organised by the International Enterprise Singapore and the the Singapore Business Federation, which are leading an 18-member business delegation to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

Mr Iswaran will be accompanied by officials from the MTI, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Enterprise Singapore.
