Pay tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew

The first community sites around Singapore for members of the public to pay tribute to Mr Lee Kuan Yew will be up by Tuesday from 10am, the People's Association said yesterday. They are located at Tanjong Pagar Community Club, Ang Mo Kio Central Stage at the town centre, the open space at Bedok town centre, the hardcourt opposite Choa Chu Kang MRT Station, Canopy @J Link (next to JCube and Jurong Regional Library) and Tampines Community Plaza (in front of Tampines One Mall). - FIONA CHAN

Hospitality discussion panel to focus on business efficiency

World Rubber Week 2015 kicks off

Singapore is hosting World Rubber Week 2015, an IE Singapore initiative. A key event is the Rubber Exchange Forum today which aims to deepen the understanding of rubber futures trading, promote price transparency and strengthen the global pricing benchmark within the broader futures trading community. Malaysia's Anwar to head to Syariah Court

Opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim will have a brief respite from jail as he heads to the Syariah Court in a bid to compel Islamic authorities to prosecute his former aide Saiful Bukhari Azlan for accusing him of sodomy without bringing four male witnesses. Obama to meet Afghan President Ghani

Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani will hold his first summit at the White House with US President Barack Obama, seeking long-term commitments of money and support from the ally, while the United States hopes the meeting will herald a new chapter of less fractious relations. The previous Afghan leader, Hamid Karzai, was openly belligerent toward his US allies and had a relationship with Mr Obama that was poisonous almost from the beginning. - RUPALI KAREKAR
