MND and agency projects recognised for innovation, teamwork and impact

SINGAPORE - Twelve projects carried out by the Ministry of National Development (MND) and its agencies have received the biennial Minister's Team Awards.

The prizes recognise projects based on their degree of innovation, teamwork and impact and were presented by National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan on Thursday (Aug 7), during his ministry's National Day Observance Ceremony at the MND Auditorium at Maxwell Road.

This year's winners included the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority's First Responder Protocol on animal-related issues. Members of the public can call a one-stop 24-hour hotline to report any animal-related issues, such as nuisance from stray cats or dogs, which then triggers an inter-agency collaboration to tackle the problem. Previously, the public would have been referred from one agency to another depending on the nature of their feedback.

Another winner, the Housing Board's Punggol Town branch, was chosen for its customer-friendly initiatives, which include service ambassadors, a kids' corner where children can watch cartoons and draw and an e-lobby with self-service kiosks.

At Thursday's ceremony, Mr Khaw also presented a cheque of $80,000, raised by MND and its agencies, to this year's President's Challenge.
