Lanterns featuring iconic cultural elements from all over the world, such as these from Japan, will greet visitors when the annual Mid-Autumn Festival celebrations return to Gardens by the Bay today.

Visitors will also be able to catch nightly shows by local and Chinese performers, and take part in lantern-making and vertical Chinese chess. Cuisine from China, Taiwan and Singapore will be on offer at the Asian Food Street. The 11-day event, organised jointly by the Chinese Newspapers Division of Singapore Press Holdings, People's Association and Gardens by the Bay, will open from 6pm to 11pm on weekdays, and 3pm to 11pm on weekends.
