SINGAPORE - Malaysian Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri is in Singapore from Sunday till Dec 4 as the 47th Lee Kuan Yew Exchange Fellow (LKYEF).

During her visit, Ms Nancy, who is the Minister in charge of law in Malaysia, will be hosted to meals by Minister for Foreign Affairs and Law K Shanmugam and Senior Minister of State for Education and Law Indranee Rajah, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said in a statement on Sunday.

Ms Nancy will also meet Minister for Culture, Community and Youth Lawrence Wong and Attorney General V K Rajah.

Mr Eddie Teo, chairman of the LKYEF, will host a welcome dinner for Ms Nancy on Dec 1.

She will also receive briefings by various ministries and agencies, including the Ministry of Law, Ministry of Home Affairs and Land Transport Authority.

Ms Nancy will also visit the Parliament, Singapore International Arbitration Centre, Singapore International Mediation Centre, Pro Bono Services Office, and the State and Syariah Courts among other places.

"Such exchanges reinforce the close bonds that Singapore and Malaysia enjoy. They promote warm ties allowing for greater collaboration and strengthening of our bilateral relationship," MFA said in the statement.

Established in 1991, the LKYEF programme invites outstanding individuals for high-level exchange visits to Singapore. The individuals are chosen on the basis of their proven track record or extraordinary potential to contribute to the development of their nations, as well as promote international understanding and goodwill.
