Telco M1 is offering disabled individuals a better deal on their data plans.

M1's new ConnectSurf plan now offers people with disabilities - including those who are wheelchair-bound - 500 minutes of outgoing calls, 10,000 SMS and MMS messages and a 6GB mobile data bundle for $25.68 a month. This will replace its older MessageSurf+ plans launched in 2011 which gave users 50 minutes of outgoing calls and 3GB of data.

StarHub's SmartBuddy plan, which is also for individuals with disabilities, offers 500 minutes of local talktime or 100 minutes of video calls, 5,000 SMS and MMS messages and a 6GB data bundle for $26.60 a month.

An equivalent plan from SingTel costs $30 a month and comes with 400 minutes of outgoing calls, unlimited SMS and MMS messages, 4GB data and free Wi-Fi access at the 100 hotspots it has rolled out.
