SINGAPORE - A KOI Cafe employee allegedly hurled vulgarities and insults at one of its customers, leading the latter to express her displeasure and demand an apology in a Facebook video that has gone viral.

In the video posted last Saturday, Ms Gia Munaji Salamat took to the social networking site to complain about an incident that had happened on the same day at Boon Lay MRT station's KOI Express outlet.

She recounted how she was there to get a drink with her husband at around 8.45pm, and had missed a sign stating that the outlet would be closed at 9pm instead of the usual 10pm because of a blackout.

When she sought to clarify why the stall had closed early, the female employee allegedly used an expletive and even said "go away you ugly b****h".

KOI Cafe Singapore responded to the incident on Sunday with a post on its Facebook page, stating that it had "already got in touch with the relevant parties and will clarify further".

The post added: "We are very sorry to make our valued customers feel disappointed and we believe we will do better with your kind support!"

In another post on Sunday, Ms Gia Munaji Salamat said that she would be meeting with a representative from KOI Express.

As of Monday morning, her video had garnered more than 68,000 views and over 2,000 shares on Facebook.

Earlier this month, another Facebook user Aili Si was left fuming after a Pizza Hut employee at the Bukit Merah outlet apparently wrote the words "Pink Fat Lady" on her takeaway receipt.

Pizza Hut Singapore later apologised for the incident, and Ms Si told The Straits Times that she would not like to pursue the matter any further.
