Jewellery thefts caught on camera, suspect arrested this morning

A thief that made away with $16,000 worth of jewellery and gold chains at two shops along Serangoon Road earlier this week has been arrested with the help of surveillance street cameras.

Police said the 20-year-old male suspect committed the thefts on Wednesday and Saturday, which was caught on surveillance cameras installed along Serangoon Road. He was arrested along Siloso Road in Sentosa early this morning.

The suspect believed to be a local will be charged in Court on tomorrow. If convicted, he faces an imprisonment for up to seven years or a fine, or both.
