How tough is the new IPPT?

Starting from next April, the Individual Physical Proficency Test (IPPT) will have just three components - sit-up, push-up and a 2.4 km run.

Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said that the new format will make it easier for operationally ready national servicemen to train for and pass IPPT.But critics have said that the test is too easy.

The Straits Times asked a 58-year-old man and a 24-year-old woman to give the test a go. Find out how they did.
