SINGAPORE - The association for National Servicemen from the Home Team announced on Friday that it will be piloting a new fitness training programme to help the men pass the Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT).
Called Train and Pass, the programme is expected to be launched at the end of 2014 or early 2015, and will encompass personalised, one-to-one coaching by 30 fellow NSmen, who are former physical training instructors from the Singapore Police Force and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF).
The pilot will involve 120 NSmen over 10 fitness sessions across five weeks. The training will take place at three of the four Home Team clubhouses: Balestier, Bukit Batok, and Sembawang. Registration for the pilot will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.
Each participating NSman can choose their training timings and venues to suit their convenience, said HomeTeamNS, the association for NSmen from the police and SCDF. Participants can also use the clubhouses' gym facilities and training equipment. More details are expected to be released by year end.
