SINGAPORE - Thundery showers can be expected over northern and eastern Singapore on Sunday afternoon, the National Environment Agency (NEA) said on its website on Aug 10.

Residents living in areas such as Pasir Ris, Tampines, Sembawang and Woodlands are expected to be affected by heavy rains between 3pm to 6pm.

Other areas in central, southern and western Singapore can expect cloudy skies during this period. This includes Bishan, Pasir Panjang and Jurong.

Weather updates can be accessed from the NEA's three-hour weather forecast on its website at http://app2.nea.gov.sg/weather-climate/forecasts/3-hour-nowcast.

Air quality islandwide is hovering in the good range, with PSI readings of less than 50 in all areas.

In a haze update on Aug 9, the NEA said that 29 hotspots were detected in Sumatra, Indonesia then. But there were no smoke plumes visible.

"Given the air quality forecast for the next 24 hours, everyone can continue with normal activities," the NEA said in its statement.

It also reminded the public that the health impact of haze is dependent on the individual's health status, PSI levels as well as the length and intensity of outdoor activity.
