German army Chief of Staff recognised for improving defence relations with Singapore

SINGAPORE - The German Army's Chief of Staff has received the Meritorious Service Medal military award for his work in improving defence relations between Singapore and Germany.
Lieutenant General Bruno Kasdorf was awarded the medal for his support of the Singapore Army's training in Germany, which included live firing by the SAF's armour force.
He also played a key role in promoting professional interactions between the German and Singaporean armies, the Defence Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
LTG Kasdorf, who is here for a visit between Aug 11 and Aug 13, also called on Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen, Chief of Defence Force Ng Chee Meng and Chief of Army Perry Lim. He will also address students at the Goh Keng Swee Command and Staff College on Wednesday.
