SINGAPORE - Light sculptures crafted from white wood, an European-style festive market and 12 days of Christmas carolling.

These are just part of Gardens by the Bay's million-dollar line-up for its Christmas Wonderland, which will open November 29 and run for a month.

Admission is free and more than 400,000 visitors are expected.

The attraction's centrepiece is the Luminaire light display, which will be making its first appearance in South-east Asia. It consists of wooden arches handcrafted in south Italy and is fitted with 95,000 coloured light bulbs.

A festive market will also be set up in the Supertree Grove, where 25 restaurants and wooden huts decked in fairy lights will sell Christmas treats and vintage items.

"We hope the festivities at the Gardens will bring the year to a befitting close, amidst the beauty of nature," said Gardens by the Bay director of programming, Ms Ong Chui Leng, in a media briefing on Wednesday.

The Christmas Wonderland is jointly organised by Gardens by the Bay and boutique events agency Blue Sky Events.
