Fire breaks out at Grassroots Club at Yio Chu Kang

SINGAPORE - A fire broke out at The Grassroots Club at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 8 on Monday afternoon.

The fire happened in a kitchen of a restaurant on the third level. No one was hurt.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) received a call at 5.37pm and deployed two fire bikes, two fire engines, one red rhino, two support vehicles and one ambulance to the scene.

People in the building were evacuated before the firemen arrived. Firefighters later put out the fire with two water jets within 30 minutes. SCDF is investigating the cause of the fire.
