Fallen tree causes traffic build-up at Hill Street

SINGAPORE - A fallen tree on Hill Street caused a traffic build-up on Saturday afternoon.

Photos received from Straits Times reader A Mellenres Alcala at around 4.45pm showed the tree blocking the road near the Armenian Church.

A spokesman from the Singapore Civil Defence Force told The Straits Times that it received a report of a fallen tree at 4.29pm. He added that a car had been damaged by the tree.

Officers used chainsaws to partially clear the road for vehicles to pass. The spokesman added that the National Parks Board will handle the rest of the clean-up. No casualties were reported.
