Electricity tariffs will fall slightly in the coming quarter, according to a statement released by SP Services on Monday.

From July 1 to Sept 30, households can expect to pay 25.68 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh), a 0.2 per cent drop from the current quarter's 25.73 cents. These figures are taken before factoring in the 7 per cent Goods & Services Tax.

This means the average monthly bill for families living in a four-room HDB flat, and those residing in a semi-detached property, will drop by 20 cents and 65 cents respectively.

Electricity tariffs are reviewed quarterly based on guidelines laid down by industry regulator Energy Market Authority. It includes the cost of generating the energy, as well as components such as network costs and administration fees.
