SINGAPORE - Singapore Post and China Post on Saturday released commemorative postcards to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Suzhou Industrial Park.

The prepaid postcards "exemplify one of the areas of co-operation between Singapore and the People's Republic of China", said Singapore Post in a statement.

With a face and retail value of $2 and $2.80 respectively, these postcards feature the number 20 written in both English and Chinese, as well as city icons such as Gardens by the Bay and Suzhou's city flower, the Osmanthus fragrans or guihua in Chinese.

The industrial park in Suzhou, which is in the southeast of the Jiangsu province, is the first inter-government project between Singapore and China. As of last year, there were 486 Singapore projects there, with cumulative contractual investments of US$3.8 billion (S$4.8 billion).

This is not the first time that both SingPost and China Post have jointly released philatelic collectibles. In 2004, they issued commemorative stamps celebrating the 10th aniversary of the same industrial park. Prepaid envelopes were also released in 2010 to celebrate 20 years of diplomatic relations between both Singapore and China.
