SINGAPORE -The crackdown on errant retailers in Sim Lim Square continued, as police raided two shops in the mall on Thursday.

Both shops are on a "blacklist" published by the Consumers Association of Singapore (Case) this week.

Case listed seven shops on the list, and said on its website that the table of dodgy retailers will be updated monthly.

One of the shops, Gadget Terminal, tops the list with 14 complaints in just two months, September to November.

The other store, which is registered as Mobile Apps Pte Ltd, but whose shop name is De.Mac Gadget, had seven complaints lodged against it from September to November.

Sim Lim Square shops have been under increased scrutiny since the story of how Vietnamese tourist Pham Van Thoai was allegedly duped at shop Mobile Air had Singaporeans up in arms.

Another shop which had been in the news, Mobile22, tied with Gadget Terminal for top spot, also with 14 reports from dissatisfied customers.

The shop tried to charge Indonesian maid Ati Rohi more than $900 for a warranty on her Samsung smartphone. She got her money back after her employer Christian Ratnam put pressure on the salemen at the shop in the presence of reporters.

Both Gadget Terminal and Mobile22, along with Mobile Air, were also the shops with the most complaints from August to October, according to past reports.

The other shops are Mackin Pte Ltd, Megacentrix Technologies, K-One Mobile LLP and SLR Pro Pte Ltd.

Case added that "Megacentrix Technologies' business registration status at the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) as of 2nd December 2014 is "Terminated".
