The people have spoken: Carousel is the best buffet restaurant here, while Apple has received the nod for its tech devices and Canon for cameras.

The winners in 28 categories were announced at the sixth annual AsiaOne People's Choice Awards on Wednesday, with over 200,000 votes cast by members of the public over three months.

By scooping up its fifth Best Buffet Restaurant award at the ceremony, Carousel was also inducted into the AsiaOne People's Choice Awards' Hall of Fame. It joins SIM Global Education in the Best Private Institute category and the POSB Everyday Card as the Best Credit/Debit Card as only the third hall of fame winner.

Winners who have received the AsiaOne People's Choice Award five times are honoured with a place in the Hall of Fame.

Apple won for Best Smartphone, Best Tablet and Best Laptop, while Canon picked up the awards for Best DSLR and Best Mirrorless Camera.

Winners in their respective categories show that their brands are not just in consumers' minds, but that they have products that deliver, said AsiaOne editor Mr Adrian Tay.

Four new categories were also added this year to reflect the more diverse choices available to consumers today, said Mr Tay. They are Best Family-Friendly Mall, Best Attraction, Best Boutique Hotel and Best Cafe.
