SINGAPORE - A Chinese restaurant at Changi Airport Terminal 2 had to send away half of its customers after a burst water pipe affected its operations on Friday evening, said a customer who tipped off The Straits Times.

The caller, Mr Ronald Sng, said he was dining at Crystal Jade at around 8.30pm when water gushed into the restaurant. The lights also went off momentarily, he said.

A member of the staff told him a water pipe had burst which caused the flooding.

He said apart from Crystal Jade, Sakae Sushi was also affected. The two restaurants are located on level two of Terminal Two.

When The Straits Times visited the area at around 10pm, cleaners were seen busy mopping up the area.

The Crystal Jade restaurant had to cease operations and shut for the day. Sakae Sushi customers were seen dining indoors as the water leakage affected only its outdoor seating space.
